AI should scaffold, never substitute.
One-tap acceptance turns evaluation into rubber-stamping, so the interface has to make the easy path the thinking path.
The evidence
Every AI suggestion opens on a word-level diff with a written rationale, then offers three balanced choices — use this, keep mine, combine. There is no lone accept button anywhere in the product.
The moment accepting AI output takes one tap, people stop evaluating it and start rubber-stamping it. That is a failure mode you design in, not one users bring with them — and it is invisible in every metric except the one that matters, which is whether the person got better at the thing.
So the interface has to make the easy path the thinking path. Show the change, say why, and never offer approval as the lowest-effort action.
